As a Shift Manager at CKitchen, you will be responsible for overseeing inbound and outbound operations, including receiving, picking, packing, consolidating, shipping, inventory control, and returns. Your primary focus will be to increase productivity and support the growth of the business. You will be required to maintain extensive knowledge of various procedures and operations protocols while developing and implementing improvements to increase efficiencies and customer satisfaction.
In this role, you will supervise up to 30 employees, ensuring that all new employees receive proper training in relevant areas and maintaining a high level of proficiency among current employees. You will monitor daily, weekly, and monthly metrics for assigned departments, identify and resolve operating issues, and provide clear and frequent communication to all teams regarding department productivity, company policies, and procedures.
You will actively engage in "MBWA" or managing by walking around and serve as a role model of company culture. You will maintain adequate staffing levels for assigned departments to ensure operating metrics are consistently met, including the coordination of shift change bids and related programs. Additionally, you will interact with employees regularly to promote a high level of engagement and ensure all safety regulations and rules are followed.
Your duties will also include leading weekly and monthly manager meetings, identifying and delegating quarterly initiatives to team members, and promoting and monitoring progress to ensure quarterly goals are met. You will maintain a high level of operating knowledge and positive employee relations by working at minimum one day each month with each department and/or shift. You will analyze opportunities for improvement including productivity growth, cost reduction, damage mitigation, and increased process efficiency.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience in operations management, 2-5 years of experience with receiving and inventory management preferred, an associate degree in a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. A bachelor's degree in a related field is preferred. Additionally, proficiency with MS Office is required (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint), along with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, strong verbal and written communication skills, and the ability to manage multiple assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
You should be customer service-oriented, have a demonstrated desire to exceed expectations, and be able to quickly adapt as business needs change. You must be able to address difficult situations with diplomacy and emotional intelligence. Business proficiency in English is required.
The physical demands of this role include standing and/or walking up to 10 hours per day, effective communication using speech, vision, and hearing, and the regular use of hands for simple grasping and fine manipulations. You must be able to bend, squat, crawl, climb, and reach, and be able to lift/carry 50-75lbs. and push/pull up to 150lbs. The work environment may include exposure to moving mechanical parts and vehicles, marked changes in temperature and humidity, and dust, fumes, and gases.
Occasional travel to other facilities within the region may be required.
