If you need to rapidly expand your business’ bulk refrigeration storage capabilities but you’ve simply run out of indoor floor space, an outdoor walk-in unit like the Nor-Lake KODB614-C 6' x 14' x 6'-7" H Kold Locker is one of your only options. The inside of this walk-in unit offers 420 cu. ft. of refrigerated space.

The 4” thick panels that make up this cooler are made from 26 gauge steel encasing foamed-in-place insulation to achieve an R-value of 25, Both sides of the 25 gauge steel feature an embossed stucco finish for corrosion resistance. The panels have male and female rails that mate together tightly and are secured by foamed-in-place cam locking fasteners. Around the outer perimeter, a continuous panel gasket ensures an airtight seal without cuts or breaks around corners. The edge caps on the ceiling and floor panels are not overlapped or mechanically fastened, instead, they are foamed-in-place so they don’t come loose.

The door has a stepped profile to prevent airflow to keep the heat out. The standard door is 26” wide allowing secure access into the walk-in. Normally the upgraded 30” wide door kit with a stainless steel kick plate costs an additional $250, however, you can get it today at no extra cost. The door is mounted on two cam-lift hinges that can be installed on the left or right of the unit. The hinges are field-adjustable to adjust how the door hangs for smooth opening and closing and can be locked in with a set screw. A spring-actuated door closer is included to make sure the door is never left ajar. 

The door comes pre-installed in a 4’ wide panel section as a single unit complete with a perimeter heating wire (replaceable), A vapor proof LED lighting fixture controlled by a switch that also activates an external pilot light, magnetic stainless steel trim, and a digital thermometer. Everything inside is kept secure by an NL 9800 deadbolt locking handle that can also be locked with a more secure padlock. A safety release inside the walk-in prevents workers from getting trapped.

A temperature between 35°F and 38°F is efficiently maintained by the ceiling-mounted RCPB075JC-E-4-EV Capsule Pak Refrigeration System that produces 5812 BTU/hr of heat rejection. The refrigeration system is controlled by the Enviro-Control™ electronic control system which sets the temperature, defrost timer, and can be used to manually start a defrost cycle. Outdoor models come with metal trim to be used for flashing the membrane roof material to the side of panels. The roof is protected from the weather with a 35 mill white membrane roof material that requires no seaming or gluing. Trim is secured to wall panels with self-drilling and tappingTEK screws
