The Scotsman HID540W-1 Meridian™ ice water dispenser is a water-cooled, one-stop station that offers water and ice in one convenient package. With up to 460 lbs of nugget ice production every 24 hours (under ideal conditions) and 40 lbs of internal storage, this ice machine is fit to serve in reasonably busy environments. Many medical facilities prefer nugget ice due to how easily it can fit into various containers and can offer patients relief since the nuggets are chewable. A unique feature implemented in this unit that makes it an easy fit in medical applications is the infrared dispensing system. This removes moving parts from the dispensing system which increases reliability and removes surfaces that can attract dirt.

Scotsman’s Meridian line is extremely easy to maintain, every major component is easily accessible after removing the front panels. This allows the service crew to work on the device without removing it from where it was installed. The LED readout displays the unit’s status in an easy to understand manner that can assist service crew in troubleshooting which can expedite any repairs. A unique feature from Scotsman is the implementation of a unit-specific scannable QR code. A quick scan of the QR code reveals all the device’s details including warranty information, parts lists, and manuals. To make sure this unit is up to the task of daily use for many years, Scotsman integrated specially designed greaseless bearings.
