ICE-O-Matic MFI1256W Description
This Ice-O-Matic Ice Maker features a water cooled condenser and the capability to produce up to 1,137 lbs of flake ice every 24-hours. The power requirements for this flake ice machine model are 208-230v/60/1-ph at 11.2 amps. For every 100 lbs of ice, this unit produces it will consume 70 gallons of water to cool the condenser, 2.70 kWh of electricity, and 12 gallons of potable water.
Water cooled ice machines are quieter, require less power, and don’t dump hot air into the environment around it as air-cooled ones do. The only real downside with these units is that they consume a lot of water to cool the condenser, which is fine if water costs aren’t too high. This makes these ice makers an easy pick for businesses in hot humid climates where ice is essential. An air-cooled unit expelling heat into an air-conditioned space is counterproductive and will raise power costs.
